HOW TO DECIDE ON A MAKEUP ARTIST…

You’ve scoured The Knot, Wedding Wire and Zola for hours looking at bridal makeup companies and they are starting to all look the same. I’m sure you’re asking yourself:

  • Why do some charge for travel and others don’t?

  • What’s the difference between airbrush and traditional?

  • Do I have to go to their place to get ready or do they come to me?

  • What’s an additional artist fee?

  • How many artists do I need for my bridal party?

  • What’s a minimum?

  • How do I know who to pick?

Eye For Beauty CT makes everything easy. From the moment you find us on The Knot, Wedding Wire, or Wandering Weddings (yes, we’re the second bridal beauty company EVER to be on there!) we will let you know if we are available for your date. From there we will send you our brochure of services with more information. All of our services are laid out and categorized with helpful information about travel, add on services, hair and makeup trials, and photos of our recent work.

If you didn’t find us on one of the popular wedding planning sites, you can see our work on Instagram @eyeforbeautyct or our website www.eyeforbeautyct.com. Making an inquiry is easy as filling out a few questions online and we pride ourselves in answering your questions quickly.

We explain the difference between airbrush and traditional applications. If you are on the fence, Eye For Beauty CT suggests scheduling a makeup trial to really have a closer look at your skin type. RUN FOR THE HILLS- if the makeup artist says airbrush looks good on everyone or if they ONLY do airbrush applications. What if you have textured skin? Don’t you want the BEST application using the RIGHT products for your skin type?

Luckily, Eye For Beauty CT travels TO YOU on your wedding day making it extremely easy to get ready all in one place (usually the hotel, venue, or your home).

When deciding on a makeup artist, ask yourself:

  • How fast do they get back to me?

  • Do they actually answer my questions fully?

  • Are they ACTUALLY listening to what I want?

  • What style is appearing on their social media and website? Do I want to actually look like these people?

  • What are other people saying about their services? Especially on The Knot and Wedding Wire where other brides and bridal attendants give their testimonials.

  • Do they have insurance? (A lot of venues require everyone to have insurance who is on their property)

  • How long have they been doing makeup?

  • What forms of payment do they accept? (be iffy about Venmo as their only option- this may mean they aren’t officially set up as an LLC)
