Coronavirus & Your Wedding

With the government limiting gatherings, shutting down restaurants and bars, and forcing us to practice social distancing it makes many couples with their wedding approaching very uneasy. At Eye For Beauty CT we are taking it day by day. Couples WILL ultimately be getting married. Keeping communication open with all vendors is key. If you have your wedding coming up within the next 8 weeks, we want to offer some advice:

WEEKDAY WEDDINGS

Wedding vendors and venues may already be booked for late summer dates, as this is peak season. However, scheduling your wedding during the weekday will increase the chance of all your vendors being available. While this may be challenging for your guests to attend, think about having a Thursday or Friday evening wedding.

SAVE IT FOR A SUNDAY

While this is dependent on many venues/vendors being available, looking into a WINTER Sunday date might be a possibility. Keep an open mindset and be open to dates in a later season.

INTIMATE WEDDINGS

Elopements and small weddings have become increasingly popular in the recent years. With regulations requiring guest count to be very small, consider including only your parents and siblings. For the safety of the elderly, those that can’t travel, and to contain the virus, having an intimate ceremony may be a great option while making the day incredibly special. A recent bride did just that, asking guests to stay home, while she said her “I do’s” surrounded by parents on both the groom and brides side.

DELAYED RECEPTION

Throwing a celebration of love, or a delayed reception, where at a later point family and friends can gather to celebrate the union of the happy couple. My husband and I eloped, and several months later had a cocktail reception in Manhattan surrounded by 60 of our closest family and friends. We were able to utilize our photographer, videographer, florist, and beauty stylist for the ceremony, and baker, venue, music, calligraphy artists and beauty team again for the reception.

ONE YEAR FROM THE DAY

Since we are still in the beginning of 2020, it might be easier to postpone your date to exactly one year from your current wedding day. This will be very dependent on the popularity of your venue. One bride is looking into rescheduling one year and one day from her current date.

WINTER WEDDINGS

October is still peak season for many of us. Looking into a November or December date when the season slows down a bit, might give couples more options. Couples can even look into a Thursday or Sunday winter wedding date.

The key is to stay positive and take this one day at a time. Hopefully things will have a positive outcome if we stay home for the next 8 weeks. Your wedding is extremely important to us, and we are doing what we can to reschedule and increase sanitation. Keeping communication open with our couples, and working together with other vendors is extremely important during these times.
