WEDDING DAY READY- PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GREAT SKIN

Below is a list of skincare recommendations for brides leading up to their big day! At minimum everyone should have a good cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and SPF. As a bridal makeup artist I have seen my fair share of skin issues. I have tried so many different brands of skincare, from all natural, dermatologist recommended, influencers’ favorites, inexpensive, overly priced, and everything in between.

When choosing skincare products, I ask myself a few key questions:
+ Would this product be good in my kit- would this work on various skin types
+ Would I personally use this product- I have very sensitive skin, prone to redness and breakouts, and need all the hydration
+ Would this product be multi-purpose, and be in a price range my brides would be comfortable purchasing time and again

PROBLEM: “I need a new moisturizer but I don’t know which one to use.”

MOISTURIZER SOLUTION: My go-to moisturizer for brides is Water Balm! It is a 5 in 1 product. This gel moisturizer, also tones, acts as your day cream, serum, and primer. It’s extremely hydrating and feels amazing on the skin. Use a nickel-sized amount and let dry before applying foundation. This moisturizer feels lightweight and is great for all seasons!

PROBLEM: “I’ve never used toner.”

TONER SOLUTION: Toner helps restore and balance your skin’s pH levels. Toner IS NOT meant to remove leftover makeup or clean your face. Toners either come in a spray bottle or container that you can easily pour into your palm. You can mist directly onto your face or spray onto your hands and pat gently into your skin. If you use a cotton round to apply toner, if residual makeup ends up on the cotton round, you should change your cleanser.

I recommend using Water Balm as a toner/moisturizer when needing to get ready quickly. I also love Indie Lee COQ-Toner which targets dullness, textured skin and is calming.

PROBLEM: “What should I be cleaning my face with?”
CLEANSING SOLUTION: Even those with oily skin should try The Japanese Cleansing Oil! Gently shake bottle, dispense 2-3 pumps into your hands, massage onto dry skin, then rinse. This cleanser doesn’t leave behind an oily residue and quickly removes makeup and sunscreen. I love that ingredients are listed clearly on the website and this product is gluten free, paraben free, and vegan.

PROBLEM: “I don’t want to smell like sunscreen and most sunscreens feel horrible.”
SUNSCREEN SOLUTION:
Dermalogica’s Invisible Physical Defense Sunscreen SPF 30, is very light weight physical sunscreen that doesn’t smell like you’re ready for a long beach day! It blends beautifully into the skin, and doesn’t make skin look white or gray. Even very sensitive skin types (like myself) can wear this! Wear this indoors and out- that’s right- be protected from blue light.
